'Stupendous Feat': Mukesh Ambani Congratulates PM Modi On Completing 12 Years In Office Published By, Last Updated: June 19, 2026, 14:29 IST Mukesh Ambani congratulates Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he becomes the longest serving head of an elected government, completing 12 consecutive years in office RIL Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani speaks at the company's 49th AGM. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani on Friday extended greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he emerged as the longest-serving head of an elected government, completing 12 consecutive years in office. “At the very outset, on behalf of the entire Reliance Family, including all our shareholders, let me congratulate our beloved Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji, on achieving the stupendous feat of becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister of India", Ambani said while addressing the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance. “Later this year, on 7th October, he will complete 25 uninterrupted years in public office – first in Gujarat and later at the Centre", he noted.
On June 9, PM Modi became as the longest-serving head of an elected government, surpassing the record of the country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The Reliance Chairman stated the Prime Minister’s long-term vision for India’s progress had been “instrumental in the rapid, all-round growth" of the country over the past decade. “Over these years, the number of votes he has polled is by far the largest by any leader in the democratic world. We congratulate him on this remarkable milestone in public service. His vision for India’s growth and the corresponding execution plan have been instrumental in the rapid, all-round growth India has witnessed over the last decade", he said. RIL AGM 2026 Live Updates ‘India Among Most Resilient Nations’ Mukesh Ambani noted the world had witnessed uncertainty and volatility over the past six years, given the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, mounting geopolitical tensions, and energy market disruptions.
“The past six years have been the most volatile and uncertain in several decades. COVID-19, increased geopolitical frictions, conflicts and wars, energy market disruptions, supply chain fragmentation, sharp swings in commodity prices, and shifting capital market dynamics have combined to create a far more unpredictable global operating environment than before", he said. Drawing reference to the war in West Asia –– which sent global economies plunging into chaos –– Ambani said: “The war in West Asia added to these problems. However, tough times never last; tough nations do. And India is among the most resilient nations in the world. With unity, positivity, and self-confidence, we have overcome worse crises in the past." The Reliance boss highlighted that under the far-sighted leadership of PM Modi, India overcame the situation with “exemplary competence, commitment, and wisdom", expressing optimism that the country would continue to play the role of a “balancer, a promoter of peace, and a friend to all".
