Andhra Pradesh IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said on X that he met Vishal Agarwal, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Visa Steel, Aditya Agarwal, Director of the Emami Group, and Prashanth Bangur, Vice-Chairman of Shree Cement, in Kolkata on Friday (June 19, 2026). During the meeting, Mr. Lokesh spoke of the reforms the Andhra Pradesh government was carrying out to promote industrial development, attract investment and create jobs.

The government intended to make Andhra Pradesh an industrial and manufacturing hub in the country, he said, adding that construction of the integrated steel plant
by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel near Anakapalli had begun. The plant would make the State a major hub for the steel industry, he said.
