The Iranian delegation has suspended its planned trip to Switzerland for peace negotiations with the United States. Tehran cited the continuation of Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon as a flagrant violation of the first clause of the recently signed memorandum of understanding, which stipulates that the war must end on all fronts. The Iranian side informed mediators that the Lebanon file remains central to conducting and continuing the negotiations.
While the United States and mediators anticipated complications, the ongoing conflict in Lebanon has emerged as a major sticking point between the two sides, halting progress toward implementing the peace deal.
