A peace agreement has been signed between the United States and Iran to end the conflict in West Asia, but hostilities between Israel and Lebanon continue. The Israeli Prime Minister stated that troops will remain in southern Lebanon until security needs are met, asserting independence in decision-making despite the United States' push for a comprehensive ceasefire. The United States President expressed dissatisfaction with Israeli military actions in Beirut, while the United States Vice President criticised the Israeli leadership, emphasising that American resources heavily support Israel's defence.
The United States administration highlighted the economic benefits of the agreement, noting increased oil movement through the Strait of Hormuz and falling global fuel prices. Meanwhile, Iran's Supreme Leader claimed the United States pursued the agreement out of desperation, clarifying that the negotiations do not signify complete compliance with American demands. The situation remains volatile as military operations and retaliatory strikes persist across the Israel-Lebanon border, threatening the broader regional peace process.
