Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 23rd instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme on Saturday (June 20, 2026) from Tarakeswar, West Bengal. Over 9.44 crore eligible farmers will receive ₹2,000 and ₹18,880 crore will be transferred directly into beneficiary accounts. “Over 2.18 crore women farmers will receive the benefit,” the Union Agriculture Ministry said in a release.
“In all, over ₹4.46 lakh crore has been disbursed since its inception on February 24, 2019,” the Ministry added. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in a separate statement that in West Bengal more than 45.35 lakh farmers will receive ₹907 crore. “The total amount distributed under the PM-KISAN scheme in the state will exceed ₹15,055 crore,” Mr. Chouhan said.
The Prime Minister will also launch the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)/Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS). “During 2026-27, the target is to provide crop insurance security to 1.10 crore farmers on 30 lakh hectares of agricultural land. Crops worth ₹28,140 crore will receive insurance protection,” Mr. Chouhan said.
The Union and state governments will provide premium subsidies of approximately ₹777 crore.
