United States President Donald Trump and his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, on Thursday signed a peace deal aimed at ending the months-long US-Iran war in West Asia. The Iranian President has also shared images of the signed US-Iran agreement on social media, describing the document as a historic achievement and a symbol of Iran’s strength following months of negotiations with Washington. Front pages of Iranian newspapers Javan: One of the prominent Iranian daily newspapers, close to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), called the US as having suffered “a glorious defeat". It said that though Israel and the US began the conflict with ambitious goals, Iran emerged stronger than its opponents expected.
Hamshahri: The state-affiliated newspaper, on its front page, posted a photo of Trump biting a crumbled piece of paper. CNN quoted the headline, which read, “Gone with the Wind," a common Persian idiom referring to something being wasted. Kahyan: CNN quoted the influential and conservative newspaper posting the headline: “The Strait of Hormuz is our deterrent weapon; our lever of power is not negotiable." Sazandegi: Focusing on economic gains after the US-Iran agreement, the newspaper wrote number “300" in large letters, in reference to the potential $300 billion reconstruction fund outlined in the agreement.
