Telangana’s innovative use of Information Technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in agriculture received global recognition at the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) headquarters in Rome, Italy.
Telangana Agriculture Commissioner Surendra Mohan delivered the keynote address at the inaugural meeting of the Global Initiative on AI for Agrifood Systems, highlighting the State’s pioneering efforts to leverage technology for agricultural development.
He focused on Telangana’s adoption of digital technologies and AI-based solutions to improve farm productivity, enhance crop management, strengthen agricultural extension services, and support data-driven decision-making in the farming sector.
A notable highlight of the event was that Telangana was the only State from India invited to participate in the prestigious global forum.
