Mysuru airport conducted a building evacuation drill at its Terminal Building on Thursday to evaluate the effectiveness of the emergency response procedures and strengthen the preparedness of airport stakeholders and passengers. The mock exercise, carried out in accordance with established safety protocols, aimed to evaluate the airport’s readiness to respond to emergency situations, said a statement issued by the Mysuru airport.
Passengers and airport personnel actively participated in the drill, responding promptly to evacuation instructions and cooperating throughout the exercise. Their involvement contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the evacuation, the statement said. The coordinated response demonstrated the readiness and synergy among various airport agencies, including the Airport Fire Service, Karnataka State Industrial Security Force, Indigo Airlines, and Terminal Management.
The drill led by Mysuru Airport Director P.V. Usha Kumari and supervised by Airport Security unit In-charge Chandrashekar, and HoD Airport Fire Service Vijayan P.C., with active participation from all concerned departments and stakeholders “underscored Mysuru airport’s capability to manage emergency situations efficiently while ensuring the safety and well-being of all airport users,” the statement said.
Mysuru airport regularly holds such emergency preparedness exercises to reaffirm its “dedication to providing a safe, secure, and resilient environment for passengers and stakeholders alike,” the statement added.
