(Photo: IANS) Twisha Sharma Death Case: The police investigating the case of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, who died at her matrimonial home in Bhopal, have initiated proceedings to cancel the passport of her husband, Samarth Singh, amid fears that he could flee abroad. A lookout circular has also been issued against Singh, who remains absconding in the case. The Bhopal Police has formed six special teams to track down Samarth Singh and ensure his arrest, news agency IANS reported. Police said search operations are underway both within Madhya Pradesh and outside the state. A reward of Rs 10,000 has also been announced for information leading to his arrest. Misrod ACP Rajnish Kashyap confirmed that authorities have written to the passport office to revoke Samarth’s passport.
“The police are conducting search operations both within Madhya Pradesh and outside the state," ACP Kashyap said. The lookout notice has reportedly been circulated to airports and border checkpoints to prevent him from leaving the country. Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old woman from Noida, was found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills on May 12, months after marrying Samarth Singh in December 2025. Her family has accused her husband and in-laws of dowry harassment and murder. Twisha’s father Navnidhi Sharma has refused to accept the body until a second post-mortem is conducted. The family alleged that the preliminary post-mortem report does not match physical evidence and claimed there were attempts to mislead the investigation. Twisha’s mother Rekha Sharma said the family has been seeking a fresh post-mortem and transfer of the case to Delhi. The case took another turn after the preliminary post-mortem report from AIIMS Bhopal noted multiple injury marks on Twisha’s body. Police officials said the belt allegedly used in the hanging was seized from the crime scene but was not produced before doctors during the post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, Samarth Singh’s mother Giribala Singh has denied allegations of dowry harassment. She claimed that Twisha had been undergoing psychiatric counselling, consumed “large quantities" of marijuana during pregnancy, and that her parents stayed away for months. While addressing a press conference on Monday, Singh alleged that Twisha had been undergoing psychiatric counselling and was prescribed medicines “given to a schizophrenic patient". She further alleged that Twisha consumed “large quantities of marijuana during pregnancy" and showed withdrawal symptoms, including trembling hands. “She went for psychiatric counselling also, and medicines were prescribed to her, which are given to a schizophrenic patient… She would remain stable for a day or so, but then again, there would be a slight change in her condition. We observed some physical symptoms, a slight trembling in her hands, which is typical of withdrawal symptoms… She destroyed everything…" Singh said while addressing the press. What Is The Case? Twisha Sharma, a former Miss Pune winner and MBA graduate from Noida, had worked in marketing, modelling and films. Her family alleges that she faced mental torture and dowry harassment after marriage.

While Giribala Singh has received anticipatory bail, Samarth Singh remains absconding. Police have announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to his arrest.
