Image used for representation A woman in Bihar’s Begusarai district has alleged that she was gang-raped and subjected to a brutal assault by five men who allegedly barged into her home, locked her husband inside a room and attacked her before fleeing. The incident took place on the night of June 11 near Chakiya Police Station limits. According to the survivor, the accused entered the house around 11:30 pm while she had stepped out to use the toilet. She alleged that the men confined her husband in a room and, after she returned, gagged her before taking her to a secluded spot outside the house.

Survivor Alleges Brutal Assault The woman told reporters that the attackers raped her and assaulted her when she tried to raise an alarm. She further alleged that the assailants attacked her with a blade, causing injuries to her chest and thigh. After the incident, family members alerted the police and rushed her to a hospital. She was initially treated and later discharged, but continued to experience severe pain. Bullet, Stone Removed During Medical Examination The survivor said that after her condition failed to improve, she returned to the hospital for further medical examination. During treatment, doctors reportedly recovered a bullet, a stone and a piece of wood from her private parts. “I was in a lot of pain. During the medical examination, a bullet, a stone and a piece of wood were removed. I still have pain," the woman said. She added that she was unaware of the objects allegedly inserted during the assault because she had lost consciousness.

Previous Attack Alleged The woman also claimed that three months ago, unidentified men had entered her house, assaulted her and attempted to sexually assault her before fleeing with cash and jewellery. According to her, a complaint was made to the police at the time, but no action was taken. Police Probe Underway Begusarai DSP Anand Kumar Pandey said a scientific investigation was underway and preliminary findings suggested that the woman’s account appeared credible. “The woman’s statement appears to be true. She went home after being discharged on June 12. When she returned home, her internal parts were showing signs of damage. A bullet has been removed from the private parts," the officer said. Police said efforts were underway to identify and arrest the accused. The DSP also assured that action would be taken against any police personnel found guilty of negligence during the handling of the case. The investigation is ongoing, with medical and forensic reports expected to play a crucial role in establishing the sequence of events and strengthening the case against the accused.
