While transporting the arrested individuals to Chandigarh, the police vehicle met with an accident. Taking advantage of the crash, the suspects allegedly attempted to flee by snatching a pistol from the police officers.
They fired two rounds at the police party, leading to a retaliatory shootout. Both suspects sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter and were subsequently recaptured. A forensic team investigated the damaged vehicle and the shootout site, resolving a major case for the police.
