TMC in Deep Crisis: Treasurer Arup Biswas Seeks Freeze on Party Bank Accounts Amid Internal Revolt
The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is facing a severe internal crisis as a massive revolt has triggered a bid to freeze its financial operations
The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is facing a severe internal crisis as a massive revolt has triggered a bid to freeze its financial operations. Party treasurer Arup Biswas has officially written to HDFC Bank, requesting an immediate freeze on all debit transactions and operational changes in the party’s accounts.
This development comes as a serious factional dispute unfolds over who legitimately controls the organisation, leaving the TMC leadership locked out of its financial assets. Additionally, several investigative fronts have opened up against senior leader Abhishek Banerjee following the party's electoral setback in West Bengal on May fourth. Biswas, who had been evading police summons for weeks, recently appeared for questioning.
