Seven people were killed after an SUV plunged into a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district, officials said. The accident took place near Chhatrund on the Masrund-Hamal route when the driver of the Mahindra Bolero reportedly lost control and fell into a deep gorge.
According to information, all seven occupants of the vehicle died on the spot. The victims include six passengers — three women and three men — along with the driver. Read Full Story The victims were returning home after attending a religious ceremony when the accident occurred.
Following the incident, police personnel, district administration officials and local residents rushed to the spot and launched relief and rescue operations. The bodies were retrieved from the gorge and a probe is underway to ascertain what led to the accident.
