The Federal Reserve announced that it’s holding interest rates steady after Kevin Warsh's first meeting as the new chair. President Trump reacted to the Fed’s decision to leave interest rates unchanged, and about reports of a potential rate increases later this year.
“It’s alright, whatever” Trump said. “It could happen, it’s hard to believe. It just keeps the country down.” Wednesday’s meeting was Warsh’s first as Fed Chair. He replaced Jerome Powell after his term came to an end.
