Prince Harry To Return To UK With Meghan, Archie And Lilibet For First Visit Since 2022 Published By, Last Updated: June 18, 2026, 06:46 IST The visit is expected to coincide with the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham. If the trip goes ahead, it will be the first time Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, return to the UK. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to bring their children, Archie and Lilibet, to the United Kingdom next month, marking the first time the family will visit Britain together in four years, according to reports. The visit is expected to coincide with the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham. Prince Harry founded the international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans in 2014.
If the trip goes ahead, it will be the first time Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, return to the UK with both parents since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from royal duties and moved to California in 2020. The planned visit could carry significance beyond the Invictus Games. It remains unclear whether King Charles III will meet his grandchildren during the trip. The monarch is believed to have last seen Archie and Lilibet during celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. The visit would also come amid ongoing efforts to repair relations between Prince Harry and the Royal Family. In a BBC interview last year, Prince Harry said he wanted a “reconciliation" with his family after years of public tensions. Signs of a thaw emerged last September when Prince Harry met King Charles at Clarence House in London.
The meeting was their first face-to-face encounter since February 2024 and was widely viewed as an attempt to rebuild trust between father and son. Security arrangements are expected to be closely scrutinised ahead of the visit. Prince Harry has repeatedly raised concerns about the level of protection available to him and his family while in Britain. In May, he lost a legal challenge seeking the reinstatement of police protection when visiting the UK. Following the ruling, Prince Harry said he did not believe it was safe to bring his family to Britain without adequate security guarantees. Speaking to the BBC after the court decision, he said he could not ensure his family’s safety under the current arrangements. However, reports in December suggested that Prince Harry’s access to security provisions during visits to the UK was under review.
