As Shiv Sena UBT battles speculation over a possible split in its parliamentary party, senior leader and MP Anil Desai has projected confidence ahead of a crucial meeting of MPs. Speaking to NDTV, Desai said all party MPs are expected to attend and stressed that a handful of legislators cannot claim to represent the entire party.
He credited Uddhav Thackeray's leadership, saying the former Maharashtra chief minister had personally spoken to every MP and guided the party "like a guardian." Desai also warned against the use of pressure and inducements in politics, arguing that both legal and political hurdles remain for any breakaway faction seeking recognition.
