This came after US President Donald Trump acknowledged India’s importance “as long as Narendra Modi is important". Speaking on the sideline of G7 summit in Evian, France, Trump said that America will come to India’s help if it is attacked. “I think it is a great relationship…If they were attacked, we would be there to help them…If anybody attacks that man, we are going to be there…If they are attacked and he (PM Modi) is the leader, we are going to be there to help," said Trump while addressing reporters with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
