Sources familiar with the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly, said that Wahi is the subject of an ongoing probe. Investigators are examining whether the 23-year-old deliberately received a yellow card while playing for Nice in a Ligue 1 match against Metz on May 17. Wahi was arrested by French police on May 29, shortly after scoring twice in Nice’s victory over Saint-Etienne, a result that helped the club secure its Ligue 1 status for another season.
