Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan visited Hanumakonda on Wednesday to fulfil the wish of a 17-year-old fan suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a rare genetic disorder that has left him bedridden. The actor-politician visited the residence of Niranjan, son of Ramu and Manasa, at Hanuman Nagar Colony in Hanumakonda after learning about the teenager’s desire to meet him.
The family had been eagerly awaiting the visit, viewing the opportunity to meet Pawan Kalyan as a source of emotional strength amid the boy’s prolonged health battle. During the visit, he extended financial assistance of ₹1 lakh towards the boy’s medical treatment and presented him with Lord Venkateswara’s Tirtha Prasadam. The A.P. Deputy Chief Minister also offered special prayers at the Bhadrakali Temple amid tight security, seeking the teenager’s speedy recovery.
In a message posted on social media platform X later, Pawan Kalyan said he had recently watched a video in which Niranjan, who is battling a rare disease, expressed his wish to meet him. He said he decided to personally visit the teenager’s residence to fulfil that wish. Describing Niranjan’s determination as inspiring, Pawan Kalyan said the young boy’s courage and self-confidence in facing severe health challenges were commendable.
He expressed hope for Niranjan’s recovery and prayed for the blessings of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Bhadrakali. The Jana Sena chief also thanked Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the Telangana government and the State police for facilitating his visit to Warangal and Hanumakonda.
