The United States President has issued a warning regarding the upcoming memorandum of understanding with Iran, scheduled to be signed in Geneva. Ahead of the agreement, the US administration stated that military action and bombings could resume if the final terms negotiated over the next sixty days are unsatisfactory. The proposed framework aims to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, addressing concerns over its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
While Iran maintains its nuclear program is strictly for civilian purposes, the US insists on stringent controls, comparing the new framework to previous international agreements. The US leadership also stated that failure to reach a consensus could lead to a global economic depression. Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz is expected to reopen fully, bringing relief to global markets. The ongoing negotiations occur amidst regional instability, including military operations against targets in Lebanon, adding complexity to the broader Middle East peace efforts.
