The integration of Artificial Intelligence into smartphones has steadily unlocked a whole new layer of possibilities. Take mobile cameras, for instance, AI has dramatically improved photo quality after integrating with them, while tools like Gemini have made everyday tasks faster and AI-powered editing has reduced our dependence on third-party apps. But Samsung is not stopping there. At VivaTech 2026, the company is taking AI-enabled features to an entirely new territory by announcing an AI-powered pet care solution, developed in partnership with startup Lifet. Read Full Story The feature lets users simply take a photo of their pet and have it analysed by AI.
From there, the technology can detect potential health issues, flagging signs of dental problems, patellar luxation, or cataracts, giving pet owners a smarter, more proactive way to keep an eye on their furry companions. If you’re a Galaxy owner and want to use the feature, you need to install the SmartThings app and Pet Care service on your smartphone. Worth noting is that Lifet is not an entirely new name in this space. The startup, which is part of Samsung's external startup incubation program, already offers AI-based pet photo analysis through its own website.
And if accuracy is a concern, the company has that covered, too. Lifet claims to identify the aforementioned health conditions with an impressive 97% accuracy rate. Samsung aims to use AI, connected devices, and partnerships to move healthcare from reactive treatment to more proactive everyday monitoring. The company is bringing together its ecosystem of Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy Watches, smart home devices, and the Samsung Health platform to create a more connected approach to personal wellness. Apart from pet care, Samsung also highlighted other AI-powered health features at the event. The company showcased how Samsung Health is expanding across areas like sleep, activity, nutrition, mental health, and vital signs.
Newer features such as Heart Health Score, Vitals tracking, and improved workout metrics are designed to help users better understand their health trends. Samsung also demonstrated how its connected care ecosystem could work beyond personal devices. Through its collaboration with Xealth, a digital health platform, the company is exploring ways to connect Galaxy devices with healthcare services, allowing doctors and patients to monitor health information outside traditional clinical settings.
