The ground sinking has affected an area of nearly 2.5 kilometres over the past 48 hours, leaving cracks in houses, roads and agricultural fields. Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, accompanied by a team of officers, visited the site to assess the situation.
Officials said the Public Works Department had deployed men and machinery to clear the main road, which was blocked because of the land subsidence.
