To ensure the NEET re-examination is conducted without controversy, the government has temporarily blocked the Telegram app in India. The Testing Agency reported that the platform was being exploited by cheating networks to spread misinformation and create fake question paper leak narratives. Authorities highlighted Telegram's message-editing feature, which allows administrators to alter old posts after exams while keeping original timestamps, as a key loophole used to fool students.
In addition to the temporary block, the message-editing feature has been disabled, and a dedicated cyber surveillance network has been activated. The Indian Air Force, CRPF, and CISF are also deploying unprecedented security measures to protect the examination.
