The Karnataka Home Minister has issued an open letter to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leadership, demanding the organization register itself and disclose its financial details. During a television interview, the minister defended the state government's decision, stating that the move is administrative and aimed at ensuring compliance with the law. The minister highlighted that the organization conducts extensive activities across the state, including thousands of daily gatherings and large-scale marches involving lakhs of participants, which necessitates transparency regarding its funding and legal status.
Despite statements from the organization's leadership that the notice is a political gimmick designed to target a specific ideology, the minister maintained that all entities must operate within the constitutional framework. The state government has sought a seven-point clarification regarding the organization's structure, office bearers, and sources of income, warning of potential action if the legal and financial disclosures are not provided.
