The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday (June 16, 2026) arrested Sunkari Narahari Rao, Deputy Director, Multi Zone-II, Survey and Land Records, Telangana after a case of disproportionate assets was booked against him. Earlier in the day, the ACB carried out simultaneous searches at the officer’s residence and nine other locations linked to his relatives, benami holders and associates.
During the searches, officials recovered documents relating to multiple immovable properties, including five open plots in Rangareddy district, agricultural land spread over 1.24 acres in Maheshwaram, and several high-value residential flats in Puppalaguda, Narsingi and Rajendranagar. Investigators also identified a G+3 building in TNGOs Colony, Gachibowli, and a G+2 residential building in Chatrinaka. The bureau further reported recovery of approximately ₹1.54 crore in cash, bank balances of around ₹2.29 crore, fixed deposits worth about ₹5.04 crore, along with gold ornaments weighing nearly 1.3 kg and 8 kg of silver.
Officials also detected two lockers held in the name of the officer’s wife, which are scheduled to be opened as part of the ongoing investigation. A car was also found during the searches. Officials said the total value of assets identified is about ₹13.05 crore, and further verification is underway to ascertain additional holdings. The accused officer is being produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
The investigation is continuing.
