Scheduled for formal inauguration on June 23, the move aims to strengthen the state's global identity and attract international investments. The plan also includes naming other local roads and junctions after global corporations and figures, such as 'Google Street', 'Microsoft Road', 'Wipro Junction', and late industrialist Ratan Tata.
However, the decision has triggered a political showdown. Opposition parties have questioned the logic of naming a Hyderabad road after a foreign leader instead of popular Telugu icons who reflect the region's heritage.
