(File) The Madhya Pradesh government has written to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seeking a probe into the Twisha Sharma case. The development comes ahead of a hearing in the case scheduled for today at the Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur.

According to sources, the state government will support the victim’s family during the proceedings. Madhya Pradesh Advocate General is expected to appear on behalf of the state government before the court. The Central Government will also be represented during the hearing, with the Solicitor General appearing in the matter. Meanwhile, the family of late Twisha Sharma has approached the Bhopal Police Commissioner seeking immediate legal action against the accused, Samarth Singh. In a letter addressed to the Police Commissioner, Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, expressed concern over the delay in the arrest of the accused despite serious allegations and ongoing legal proceedings in the case.

The family urged the police to initiate strict legal measures, including proclamation proceedings and attachment of property, if the accused is absconding or deliberately avoiding arrest. The letter stated that if Samarth Singh is evading arrest or remains unavailable, the authorities should move the competent court to begin proceedings for proclamation and attachment of property under the law. The family has also raised questions over the pace and fairness of the investigation, demanding swift action from the authorities. Further developments in the case are awaited following the hearing in the High Court.
