NEET Re-Exam: Government Bans Telegram, Deploys IAF & CRPF To Prevent Paper Leaks
The Indian government has implemented extensive security measures ahead of the NEET re-examination scheduled for June 21 to prevent paper leaks and restore student trust
The Indian government has implemented extensive security measures ahead of the NEET re-examination scheduled for June 21 to prevent paper leaks and restore student trust. To counter misinformation, the government ordered Apple and Google to temporarily delist the Telegram app from their respective stores until June 22. Authorities disabled Telegram's editing feature until June 30 to stop scammers from altering timestamps on old posts to create fake paper leak narratives.
Simultaneously, the government activated a dedicated cyber surveillance network to monitor examination-related content online. To secure the physical custody chain of the question papers, the Indian Air Force has been deployed to airlift the materials to eighteen hubs across the country using military helicopters and transport aircraft. The papers will travel under armed escort, with CRPF and CISF personnel deployed at examination centres.
Opposition leaders have criticized the government, stating that the massive deployment of military and security forces highlights systemic administrative failures in conducting the national medical entrance examination.
