(ANI) A Junior Commissioned Officer and three Army personnel were injured in a blast during a patrol near the Line of Control in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district on Tuesday. According to officials, the powerful explosion occurred while the troops were carrying out a routine patrol along the forward areas of the LoC.
The injured personnel sustained injuries and were immediately evacuated from the site. They were subsequently shifted to a nearby military medical facility for treatment. The exact cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The latest incident comes just four days after two Army personnel were injured when a grenade accidentally exploded during a training exercise near the Line of Control in the Poonch sector of the Jammu region. The incident occurred at around 12:30 pm near an Army forward post in the Malti sector, close to the LoC. Earlier this month, on June 10, two soldiers lost their lives in an accidental grenade explosion during a routine equipment handover at an Army camp in the Kamalkote area of the Uri sector in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Meanwhile, an anti-terror operation in the Dori Maal forest area of Rajouri continued for the 25th consecutive day following an exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces. A large-scale search operation is underway in the area to track down the terrorists after their hideout was busted by security forces.
