Eight people are dead after an Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bomber on a "routine test mission" crashed shortly after takeoff and burst into flames at Edwards Air Force Base in California on Monday, the base said. The crash was deemed unsurvivable based on a review of footage, according to Col. James Hayes, deputy commander for the 412th Test Wing at the base, calling it a "horrible tragedy."
