A case has been filed against private school principal's son in Gandhinagar for allegedly sexually assaulting a Class 10 student who was staying in the school's hostel, police said. The case was registered at Sector-21 police station under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. According to the complaint, the minor student, who came from an economically weaker background, was residing in the hostel while preparing for his Class 10 board examinations.
During this period, the accused allegedly called the student to meet him and gradually gained his trust before allegedly subjecting him to inappropriate physical contact. Read Full Story The complaint alleges that the accused later took the student to his room and sexually assaulted him on multiple occasions against his will. Despite the alleged abuse, the student continued with his studies and appeared for his board examinations.
After the exams ended, he returned home. However, the family has alleged that the accused continued to contact the student and pressure him even after he left the hostel. According to the complaint, the prolonged ordeal adversely affected the student's mental well-being and academic performance. Family members reportedly became concerned after noticing behavioural changes and, upon questioning him, learned about the alleged abuse. The family subsequently approached the police, following which an FIR was registered.
Police said the case has been filed on the basis of a complaint alleging sexual abuse of a minor by the principal's son and further investigation is underway. Ends
