The Democratic Alliance (NDA) is aiming to secure a two-thirds majority of 360 seats in the 540-member Lok Sabha. To achieve this, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena are looking to split smaller regional parties ahead of the upcoming monsoon session. Currently holding 293 seats, the NDA's strength could rise to 313 with 20 Trinamool Congress (TMC) rebels, and further to 319 if the UBD splits.
Additionally, if the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), which has broken ties with the Congress, joins with its 22 seats, the NDA would inch closer to the 360-seat mark, enabling major constitutional amendments.
