A former member of parliament has revealed severe internal fractures within Bengal's ruling political party, citing massive financial corruption in the health sector and widespread anarchy as primary reasons for the ongoing rebellion. Speaking on the current political crisis, the former spokesperson detailed how raising concerns about irregularities at a state medical college led to internal marginalisation and a lengthy suspension, rather than an official investigation.
The crisis has now escalated, with dozens of rebel state legislators forming a separate bloc to claim the original party symbol, while a group of rebel parliamentarians plans to merge with the Citizen Party of India to support the central government. The former parliamentarian blamed the top party leadership for ignoring documentary evidence of corruption and reinstating accused individuals. Emphasising the need for state development, the former lawmaker expressed support for the newly appointed chief minister and the central administration, highlighting that the ongoing political shift could finally bridge the historical gap between the state and central governments.
