Airports Authority of India (AAI) celebrated Yatri Suvidha Diwas at Mysuru airport on Monday by giving passengers a traditional Mysuru welcome. “Passengers were accorded a traditional Mysuru welcome with Tika, handmade flowers, Mysore shawls, Mysore Pak, seed balls, greeting cards, and tourism brochures,” said a statement from Mysuru Airport Director P.V. Ushakumari. The airport mascots, Ammu and Gajju, interacted with passengers, while special discounts were offered by retail and F&B outlets.
Live quizzes and solo singing performances at the Security Hold Area added to the festive atmosphere. The celebration of Yatri Suvidha Diwas 2026 reaffirms the AAI’s commitment to “passenger‑centric services, community engagement, and sustainable development”, the statement said. The celebrations were inaugurated by Deputy Director, Department of Tourism, Mysuru, Prabhuswamy V.M.. with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp on the terminal premises. The event, which commenced with the singing of Vande Mataram, featured vibrant cultural performances including Bharatanatyam, Nadaswaram, DolluKunitha, and group dances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka.
As part of social welfare initiatives, Safai Karmacharis were felicitated in recognition of their dedicated service. Women personnel associated with the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) and frontline airline operations were also honoured. Free health screening camps, including blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, and eye check‑ups, were conducted with the support of JSS Hospital and Agarwal Eye Hospital, the statement said. Hotel Owners’ Association, Mysore Travel Association, Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and others also participated in the event.
“Through the Yatri Suvidha Diwas, the AAI Mysuru Airport expressed gratitude to passengers and stakeholders while promoting a culture of service excellence, inclusivity, sustainability, and community participation,” said Ms. Ushakumari.
