The United States President has announced a historic peace agreement with Iran, declaring an end to the ongoing conflict that has disrupted global energy markets. The proposed deal includes an immediate ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the easing of sanctions on Iranian oil exports, and the release of frozen assets. Fresh nuclear negotiations are also expected within sixty days. Iran has confirmed the broad contours of the agreement, noting that the United States naval blockade will be lifted and the Strait of Hormuz will reopen under Iranian supervision.
The official signing of the memorandum is scheduled to take place in Switzerland. The Indian Prime Minister welcomed the understanding, expressing hope for regional stability and the safeguarding of global trade routes. However, the Israeli Prime Minister has publicly rejected the fourteen-clause truce, stating that the deal does not bind Israel and ruling out any military pullback from captured territories, raising questions about the durability of the peace pact in West Asia.
