Commercial flight operations have officially begun at the Noida International Airport in Jewar, marking a major milestone for the greenfield aviation project in the Delhi NCR. The inaugural flight carried farmers who provided land for the project. Equipped with Digi Yatra and automated baggage drops, the airport currently has IndiGo operating flights, with Air India Express and Akasa scheduled to start later.
Built under the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the completed first phase features a runway, an integrated terminal, and an air traffic control tower, with a capacity to handle 1.2 crore passengers annually.
