The United States and Iran have announced a peace deal to end the ongoing war across all fronts, including Lebanon. Under the agreement, the US will lift its naval blockade within thirty days, allowing the Strait of Hormuz to reopen under Iranian oversight. Iran has outlined several preconditions before entering a 60-day negotiation period for final nuclear talks. These demands include the suspension of oil sanctions, the withdrawal of US forces from the region, and the release of half of Iran's frozen financial assets.
Additionally, Tehran is seeking a 300 billion dollar reconstruction fund from the US and its allies to compensate for damages incurred since the war began on February 28. During the interim 60-day period, no new US sanctions or military buildups are permitted. Future discussions will address Iran's nuclear program, enriched uranium stockpiles, and the complete lifting of sanctions, though no agreements have been made regarding Iran's missile program or nuclear weapons commitments.
