Jewar International Airport: IndiGo Flight 6E-2278 Takes Off From Lucknow, Set To Become First... Published By, Edited By Last Updated: June 15, 2026, 07:53 IST IndiGo flight 6E-2278 departed Lucknow and will touch down at Greater Noida's Jewar airport at 8:05 am, becoming first commercial aircraft to land at newly inaugurated facility. At 8:30 am, Jewar's first outbound flight will leave for Lucknow carrying 170 farmers and workers — including 20 women — who gave up land for the airport. IndiGo’s special flight 6E-2278 touched down at Noida International Airport in Greater Noida’s Jewar at 8:05 am on Monday, becoming the first commercial flight to land at the newly inaugurated facility. The aircraft had taken off from Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 7:05 am, carrying elected representatives, government officials and Noida businesspersons — marking the formal start of flight operations at what is being positioned as North India’s next major aviation hub.
Shortly after, at 8:30 am, the airport dispatched its first outbound flight — also to Lucknow — carrying 170 farmers and workers who had given up their land for the airport’s construction, including 20 women. On reaching Lucknow, the group is scheduled to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to thank him for the project. The Lucknow-bound aircraft then departed for Bengaluru at 8:35 am with regular passengers on board. Regular Flights From July 1 While today’s operations are inaugural in nature, full scheduled passenger services will begin from July 1. IndiGo will operate four daily flights on the Noida-Lucknow route, seven days a week. The morning slot will see flight 6E-7624 depart Noida at 5:50 am, arriving Lucknow at 7:00 am. The return, flight 6E-7625, leaves Lucknow at 7:25 am and reaches Noida at 8:40 am. The afternoon slot has flight 6E-7628 leaving Noida at 3:05 pm, landing in Lucknow at 4:15 pm, with the return flight 6E-7629 departing Lucknow at 9:40 pm and arriving Noida at 10:50 pm.
What It Costs — And Why It Matters Fares on the Noida-Lucknow sector are currently listed at Rs 3,394 one way, while the Lucknow-Noida direction is priced at Rs 4,021 — broadly in line with what travellers currently pay for Lucknow-Delhi flights. Until now, passengers travelling between Lucknow and Noida had no direct air option and were forced to fly into Delhi, then make their onward journey to Noida by metro or road. The direct connection is expected to save both time and money for regular commuters on this corridor. PM Modi’s Vision For The Airport At the airport’s inauguration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described it as a landmark project — not just for Uttar Pradesh but for the connectivity, trade and economic development of the entire North India region. The airport has since come to symbolise the state’s rapidly transforming infrastructure landscape.
