US President Donald Trump announced the breakthrough on Truth Social on Sunday evening, saying the deal would pave the way for the reopening of the narrow waterway and the removal of restrictions on Iranian ports. The agreement is scheduled to be formally signed in Switzerland on June 19. Strait Of Hormuz: Trump Announces Removal Of US Blockade “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete.

The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is being viewed as one of the most significant outcomes of the agreement, with global oil traders and governments watching closely for the resumption of normal shipping activity through the vital waterway. “This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region. Many presidents have tried to make Peace with Iran, and all have failed before me," Trump said. “The Leaders of the Region have, for the first time, found a President who can help them achieve real Peace. With the opening of the Strait upon the signing of the Deal on Friday, for purposes of mine removal, oil will flow on both ends again for the Region, and the World," he said.
