Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov said Putin conveyed his greetings to Trump in an “informal" manner as the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Russia and the US, as well as several international issues, Reuters reported.

According to Ushakov, the leaders exchanged views on Russia-US ties and ongoing global conflicts. During the conversation, Trump reportedly told Putin that ending the conflict in Ukraine remained a priority and that he was prepared to help facilitate efforts aimed at resolving the war. The two leaders also discussed developments related to Iran. Ushakov said Trump informed Putin that an agreement to end the conflict involving Iran was nearing completion. Putin, in turn, expressed satisfaction at the prospect of hostilities coming to an end. The birthday call comes at a time when Washington and Moscow remain engaged on several major geopolitical issues despite continuing tensions over Ukraine and other international disputes.
