Israeli forces have launched airstrikes on the Dahiyeh region of southern Beirut, targeting an apartment identified as a Hezbollah command centre. The strikes resulted in at least three fatalities and left fifteen injured. The Israeli military stated they had pinpoint intelligence regarding the movement of Hezbollah commanders and notified US CENTCOM prior to the operation. This military action occurs hours before a potential agreement is expected to be signed between the United States and Iran, a deal indicated by the United States president.
In response to the strikes, Iran's parliament speaker stated that the action demonstrates a lack of will or ability to fulfil commitments and that the diplomatic strategy of playing opposing roles is outdated. Iranian state media indicated that the attacks will not go unanswered. A foreign affairs analyst noted that Israel maintains a definitive position that Lebanon and Hezbollah will not be included in any peace deal, asserting that Hezbollah remains a legitimate target for Israeli forces.
