A 26-year-old man was arrested during a joint operation by the Gachibowli police and Serilingampally Special Operations Team (SOT) after 26 kilograms of ganja was seized during a vehicle interception near Nanakramguda on Saturday (June 13, 2026). The accused, identified as Mohd Nayeem, a resident of Mangalhat, was arrested after the police intercepted an auto-rickshaw near Sumadhura Acropolis in Nanakramguda.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of six packets of ganja concealed in three bags, collectively weighing 26 kilograms. Investigators said the contraband was being transported for delivery to local peddlers operating in the city.
The accused was taken into custody and later remanded to judicial custody. Police further stated that three other accused, identified as Goutham Naik alias Bipin Naik, a supplier from Odisha; Kalapathi Nithu Bai and Kalapathi Goutham Singh, both local peddlers, currently remain at large.
A case has been booked and further investigation is underway.
