Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron are set to jointly inaugurate the maiden edition of Bharat Innovates 2026 at the Palace of Exposition in Nice, France. The event serves as a global showcase of India's deep tech innovations, startups, and technology-driven solutions. It features 120 Indian innovators, 15 higher education institutions including IITs and IISc, and over 500 global investors and venture capitalists.
The initiative aims to connect Indian startups with European markets and promote collaboration in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and clean technology. Following the inauguration, PM Modi and President Macron will hold bilateral talks at Villa Kedros. Discussions are expected to focus on defence security, the Indo-Pacific region, and military cooperation. The leaders are likely to sign around twelve MoUs centred on innovation, institutional partnerships, and trade.
The bilateral talks will also address the integration of indigenous weapon systems into Rafale fighter jets and further cooperation on the Jaitapur nuclear power plant project.
