Passengers arriving at Mysuru airport will receive a traditional Mysuru welcome on Monday (June 15, 2026), with flowers and sweets as the Airports Authority of India (AAI) celebrates Yatri Suvidha Diwas to reaffirm its commitment to passenger-centric services. Passengers will be presented with handmade flowers, Mysore shawls, and the traditional Mysore Pak sweet, said the Mysuru Airport Director, P.V. Ushakumari, in a statement. “Traditional mascots Ammu and Gajju will interact with passengers, while retail and F&B outlets at the airport will offer special discounts and promotional offers. In addition, a Nadaswaram performance will be arranged for arrival and departure passengers, and arrival passengers will be welcomed at the cityside with a traditional Dollu Kunitha performance,” the statement said. A fire-fighting equipment display and awareness demonstration will also be organised for school students and passengers at the cityside area.
The airport premises, including the Departure Hall, Arrival Hall, and Cityside area, will come alive with vibrant cultural performances showcasing the rich heritage of Karnataka. The celebrations will feature Dollu Kunitha, Bharatanatyam, Nagaswara performances, and group dances by school students, creating a festive ambience throughout the terminal. Live quiz competitions and solo singing performances at the Security Hold Area are planned to enhance passenger engagement and experience. The Yatri Suvidha Diwas, organised by AAI, Mysuru airport, aims to reaffirm its commitment to “passenger-centric services, community engagement, cultural heritage, and sustainable development.” The event will be inaugurated at the Mysuru Airport Terminal premises by G.T. Deve Gowda, MLA of the Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency. As part of social welfare initiatives, Safai Karmacharis, who maintain the airport premises, will be felicitated in recognition of their dedicated service.
Special recognition will also be accorded to women personnel associated with the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) and frontline airline operations. Free medical check-up camps comprising Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, and BMI screening will be organised at the cityside area with the support of JSS Hospital, while Agarwal Eye Hospital will conduct an eye screening camp, promoting health and well-being among stakeholders, passengers, and visitors. As part of the celebrations, Mysuru Airport has already undertaken several activities in the run-up to the event. A Community Outreach Programme was conducted on June 8, featuring career guidance sessions for students of Skill Brink. Familiarisation visits to the Flight Training Organization (FTO) and Fire Station were organised for students of Vijaya Education Society (R), Hinkal, Mysore, and St. Maria De Mattias School, Mysuru.
