Bengal: Naihati Municipal Chairman's Son Arrested In Multiple Criminal Cases, Protesters Hurl Eggs Avijit Chatterjee, son of Naihati Municipal Chairman Ashok Chatterjee, was arrested by Naihati Police on charges including attempted murder, rape, extortion, criminal intimidation and violations of the Arms and Explosives Acts. As he was taken to the Barrackpore Subdivision Court, protesters and BJP supporters allegedly hurled eggs and shoes amid heavy security.
