Due to the heavy rain and winds, power supply was disrupted in many areas of the district. A major disruption occurred near Nellore city, where strong winds caused a flex banner to fall onto the power lines at Nippo Centre. Upon receiving complaint, the Electricity department staff arrived at the scene, removed the banner using heavy-duty machinery, and restored the power.
Meanwhile, huge trees fell in Dargahmitta and Mulapet, causing severe disruption to power supply in the areas. Power outage occurred in several other areas, including Kothur, Ambapuram, Aravinda Nagar and Kallurupalli Housing Board Colony. The Electricity department personnel have undertaken the repairs on the damaged power lines to restore the power supply in these areas. Raghavendra said, โThe power supply has been disrupted in few residential colonies after trees and flex banners fell onto the electricity lines.
Our staff attended to the situation immediately and worked hard to restore the power as soon as possible.โ โUntil the power line issues were rectified, power supply was provided through an alternate supply.
