(Photo: X) A 30-year-old YouTuber and electrician was allegedly murdered inside his residence in Hyderabad’s Golconda area on Friday afternoon, with police suspecting that longstanding family tensions may have played a role in the killing. The deceased, Shaik Mahaboob, popularly known as Chandi Masood, was attacked at his home in Kumarwadi, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Golconda Police Station.
The incident reportedly occurred around 3:20 pm, NDTV reported. As per the reports, Masood had just returned home after offering Friday prayers when he noticed several individuals allegedly following him. Fearing for his safety, he rushed into his house. However, the group is said to have forced its way inside and assaulted him. Police said the attackers used sharp and blunt weapons during the assault, inflicting severe injuries. Investigators revealed that iron rods and gym equipment were allegedly used in the attack, resulting in critical head injuries. Masood succumbed to his injuries at the scene before he could be shifted to a hospital. The prime accused has been identified as Shaik Sohail, the brother of Masood’s wife.
Police said Sohail was allegedly accompanied by two associates, identified as Afu and Jabir, during the attack. Police believe the murder could be linked to a prolonged family dispute. Masood had reportedly married his wife in a love marriage about 18 months ago despite opposition from some members of her family. Although the couple later had a child, tensions between Masood and his in-laws allegedly persisted.
