In Maspur, located in the Antagarh block of Chhattisgarh, residents face an acute drinking water crisis. Since settling here in 1975, the villagers have lacked simple access to clean drinking water and remain dependent on a single water drain. During the summer heatwave, women and residents are forced to undertake a grueling three to three-and-a-half kilometer trek across a mountainous stretch twice every day to fetch water.
The situation gets severely worse during the monsoon when the water drain becomes muddy and contaminated. While the administration has failed to address this critical issue for over fifty years, the villagers demand immediate developmental action from authorities and visiting ministers.
