A 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and blackmailed by her school teacher in Maharashtra’s Jalna. Following the allegations, the local police have arrested the teacher named Vicky Shinde. According to the police complaint, Shinde had been in contact with the minor girl through various social media platforms for the past year. Over this period, he systematically groomed the girl, gaining her trust before using psychological pressure to acquire her private photographs.

The assault left the girl under immense psychological distress. Nearly a month after the initial incident, the accused began pressuring her again for physical favours. Living in a constant state of fear and anxiety, the girl finally gathered the courage to confess her ordeal to her mother.
Upon learning about the incident, the survivor’s family rushed to the local police station. They lodged a formal complaint, and based on their complaint, the police registered a case and launched a probe into the incident. Recognising the gravity of the crime, the police arrested Shinde under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Shinde was promptly taken into custody and is currently undergoing interrogation.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and panic across Jalna city, with furious citizens demanding the strictest possible legal action against the educator.
