Demanding Ministerial berth for three-time MLA from Hubballi-Dharwad East Assembly Constituency Prasad Abbayya, scores of farmers came together under the aegis of Hubballi Taluk Raita Sangha to stage a demonstration in Hubballi on Friday. The farmers arrived at the tahsildar’s office in a motorcycle rally from Yallapur Oni near Bankapur Chowk and then staged the demonstration demanding that their leader be made a Minister in the D.K. Shivakumar Cabinet.
Leading the protest, president of the sangha Siddappa Meesi, vice-president Fakkiragoudra Patil and others, including Channabasappa Asundi and Mohan Asundi, said that having been elected for the third time, Prasad Abbayya has been a true leader by meeting the aspirations of the people of all communities.
They urged Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to include him in his Cabinet and give him an opportunity to serve the people in a better way.
Subsequently, they submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister to the tahsildar.
